Pursuant to Article 181(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, which provides that a Justice of the Constitutional Court serves a single, non-renewable term of office of seven years, Simão de Sousa Victor has ceased his duties at this august institution and now holds the status of retired Justice.

According to the President, Laurinda Prazeres Monteiro Cardoso, Justice Simão de Sousa Victor, who joined the Constitutional Court on 3 March 2016 and retired on 29 March 2023, performed his duties with pride, zeal and dedication.

The formal retirement ceremony took place this Thursday, 1 January, in the Main Hall of the Palace of Justice in Luanda.
