Next Tuesday, 23 September 2025, at 10.00 am, at the Palace of Justice in Luanda, the Constitutional Court will hold the 1st edition of the “Diálogo do Constitucionalismo Angolano” (Dialogue on Angolan Constitutionalism).
It is a space for sharing knowledge and experience between the protagonists of Angolan constitutionalism and the new generations, the aim of which is to promote understanding of Angola's legal, political and constitutional journey, to strengthen knowledge of the Constitution and to reaffirm the role of the Constitutional Court as guardian of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola.
The initiative is part of the Constitutional Court's new dynamic, which is based on the implementation of a proximity approach, as well as on the promotion and dissemination of the Constitution at all levels of society, on the principle that knowing the Constitution is a civic duty.
The guest at this inaugural edition, which will take place in the Gallery of Angolan Constitutionalism, will be the renowned jurist, nationalist and retired Justice Onofre dos Santos, who, in a relaxed dialogue, will give a broad and engaging account of his experience of and participation in the history of 50 years of Angolan constitutionalism.
