On the morning of Friday, 21 August 2026, the Constitutional Court held a ceremony in tribute to Justice Vitorino Domingos Hossi, who died on 19 August in Luanda.

During the ceremony, the President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Laurinda Prazeres, highlighted the three years and seven months during which Vitorino Hossi served as a Justice of the Constitutional Court, a term of office abruptly cut short by his death.

In her address, Laurinda Prazeres underlined the legacy left by the Justice, highlighting his human and professional qualities, as well as the discreet, cordial and respectful manner in which he left his mark on the Constitutional Court.

“Justice Vitorino Hossi's time at the Constitutional Court was brief, but it was not small. He left a mark here; a mark made of cordiality, of respect, of culture and of a discreet presence which, perhaps for that very reason, we feel all the more today”, she said.

The ceremony was also attended by staff of the Constitutional Court, colleagues, friends and family members, who joined the institution in paying tribute to the memory of Justice Vitorino Hossi and in recognising the legacy he left in the service of Constitutional Justice.
