In the exercise of the power conferred by Article 15(1) of the Political Parties Law and by Articles 28 and 49 of Law No. 2/08 of 17 June, the Organic Law of the Constitutional Court, the President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Laurinda Prazeres, issued two Orders determining the registration of two new political formations in the register of the Constitutional Court.

They are the Bloco para a Alternância Social de Todos Angolanos (Bloc for the Social Alternation of All Angolans), with the acronym BASTA, and the Partido União Patriótica (Patriotic Union Party), with the acronym PUP.

According to the respective Orders, both political formations met the legally established requirements, having submitted the signatures required by Law.

It was also verified that their names, acronyms, symbols and other identifying elements cannot be confused with those of Political Parties already registered.

Accordingly, the statutes, programmes and other identifying elements of the two new political formations will be published in Series III of the Official Gazette (Diário da República).
